ProCharged C6 Corvette is a 7-Second Quarter-mile Monster

Monstrous Corvette Z06 runs low 8s on the brakes, showing that a 7-second run is well within reach.

The video above comes to us from the BigKleib34 YouTube channel and it features a badass C6 Corvette Z06 tearing up the drag strip at the Holley LS Fest. This car is well-known in the drag racing world, with the owner and driver Fran Schatz showcasing the work of Race Proven Motorsports by handing out beat-downs at the eighth mile and quarter-mile lengths.

The Machine

The heart of this bright red C6 Corvette Z06 is a 427-cubic inch LSX engine built by Race Proven Motorsports, fitted with a ProCharger F-1C94. The power is sent to the rear wheels by means of a Powerglide transmission and a 9-inch rear differential, along with an elaborate suspension and chassis setup.

According to an article by Corvette Online, on roughly 22 pounds of boost, this car made 1,200 horsepower and 1,000 lb-ft of torque at the rear wheels, allowing the RPM-built Z06 to turn in a best quarter mile time of 7.83 at 179.95 miles per hour.

Dominating LS Fest

The video above shows Fran Schatz’s Corvette making a few runs at this year’s Holley LS Fest. We see a few eighth-mile runs and one quarter mile runs and on each, Schatz doesn’t appear to be letting it all hang out.
