C8 Corvette Zora is expected to debut at Detroit Auto Show in January.

The mid-engine Corvette has been one of the longest running red herrings in the history of the modern automobile. As every successive generation of Corvette has been set to debut, the mid-engine rumors always come swirling back. This has been the case since the father of the mid-engine Corvette, Zora Arkus-Duntov, raced Corvettes back in the 60s. Of course, those rumors have always been inflated by General Motors’ continual concepts and design theories involving mid- and rear-engine sports cars.

Well, the mid-engine “Zora” Corvette is no longer a fan theory. It’s the real deal, and it’s fast approaching, with all evidence pointing towards a reveal at North American International Auto Show, held in Detroit this upcoming January.

These latest renderings, done by Corvette Forum, showcase the best look yet at the impending mid-engine C8 ‘Vette.

Stylistically, the front clip is derived from the current 2019+ Corvette ZR1. This jives with intel from within Chevrolet indicating this to be how the front end will look. The side profile showcases a heavily raked windshield with excellent sight lines...
